(LPL) – Un operativo federal terminó en un tiroteo mortal la mañana de este miércoles en un restaurante Burger King, en el área de Frayser, luego de que agentes intentaran ejecutar una orden de arresto contra un hombre buscado por delitos violentos.
De acuerdo con la Administración para el Management de Drogas (DEA, por sus siglas en inglés), agentes que forman parte de la Memphis Protected Job Drive localizaron al sospechoso en el establecimiento ubicado sobre North Hollywood Avenue, cerca de James Highway. Las autoridades identificaron al hombre como Darrin Pigram, quien period buscado por cargos de asalto agravado, robo agravado y uso de arma de fuego durante la comisión de un delito.
Según la versión oficial, cuando los agentes se acercaron para arrestarlo, Pigram supuestamente llevó la mano hacia la cintura y sacó un arma, lo que provocó que uno de los oficiales abriera fuego. El sospechoso fue trasladado a un hospital, donde posteriormente murió a causa de sus heridas.
El incidente provocó una fuerte movilización policiaca en la zona, incluyendo la presencia de la Policía de Memphis, el Buró Federal de Investigaciones (FBI) y miembros de la Guardia Nacional. No se reportaron otros heridos durante el operativo.
La Oficina del Fiscal de Distrito solicitó a la Oficina de Investigaciones de Tennessee (TBI) que encabece la investigación para esclarecer las circunstancias del tiroteo.

Federal Operation Ends in Deadly Taking pictures at Frayser Burger King
