(LPL/WREG) – La mujer que fue brutalmente atacada por perros en Mississippi a principios de este mes falleció el viernes por la mañana mientras se encontraba hospitalizada, según informaron el departamento de policía y la oficina del forense.
El 3 de marzo, Lakesha Newsom fue atacada por unos perros mientras caminaba por la autopista 178 en Holly Springs, Mississippi. Debido a la gravedad de sus heridas, tuvieron que amputarle un brazo y una pierna mientras permanecía en el hospital.
Newsom había estado luchando por su vida en el centro médico Regional One Well being, en Memphis, durante tres semanas. Su madre relató que estaban tratando de brindarle el mayor confort posible.
Sandra Harris, de 54 años y propietaria de los perros, ha sido acusada de agresión con agravantes, por manifestar una extrema indiferencia hacia la vida humana.

La madre de Newsom, Rosie Younger, declaró que, si bien sienten alivio por la detención, esta no podrá restituir lo que su hija ha perdido.
